2024 End-of-Year Recap

Looking back on 2024, we’re humbled at all we’ve been able to accomplish with each of you. It’s an honor to provide aid, resources, training and networking to further the credit union motto of, “People helping people.” This year, here are a few ways we’ve been able to do that:

Advocacy:

  • Combed through the nearly 800 bills in the legislature to identify 43 that required close monitoring. A handful of those required engagement.
  • Spent 30 nights in DC, engaging with our congressional delegation during the GAC, Congressional Caucus, and other trips.
  • In September, Hosted three different events for incoming federal elected officials, John Curtis, Mike Kennedy and Celeste Maloy.
  • Met with or had one-on-one conversations with 102 of Utah’s state legislators—92 percent of our legislators.
  • Hosted 17 new and continuing state legislators at three “Credit Union Training Sessions”. Purpose: help them understand the credit union story and philosophy.
  • Spent approximately 1,100 hours shoring up advocacy, education, compliance, and other services by organizing our collaborative effort with the California and Nevada credit union leagues.

Trainings and Events:

  • Hosted 652 attendees at our Credit Union Summit, and 107 at our Volunteer Summit.
  • Hosted 47 events this year.
  • Held 14 @Lunch Networking round tables, with 175 attendees from 50 percent of Utah’s credit unions.

Support:

  • Fielded 428 compliance questions from 46 different credit unions.
  • Hosted 8 free compliance classes.
  • Hosted credit union training nights in each part of the state.
  • Moderated or presented at 5 credit union planning sessions.
  • Conducted and reported on a Utah-specific CEO compensation survey.

It has been a great year charging the credit union movement forward with you all! We’re honored to work with each and every one of you. Thanks for a great year!
