Description

RELEASE DATE: APRIL 14, 2025
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 60 MINUTES

Extending credit is a cornerstone of credit union operations. As such, credit unions must ensure they are not discriminating against loan applicants and borrowers, that they are treating all applicants fairly. Complying with the fair lending rules and regulations, especially in this time of heightened scrutiny from regulators and examiners, begins with understanding the fundamentals of the fair lending laws.

Topics to be addressed in this webinar include:

  • Discussion of fair lending regulations
  • Three types of illegal discrimination in lending
  • Understanding what information can and cannot be collected from a loan applicant
  • Fair lending risks
  • Best practices to ensure compliance with fair lending laws

This training may assist your credit union in meeting the recommendations and requirements noted in the following citation:

Jamin Carlisle has 15 years of experience in banking and credit union compliance as well as the Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) and BSA Compliance Specialist (BSACS) certifications. His primary areas of expertise include BSA/AML, vendor management, disaster recovery, and staff training. Aux is a CUSO (Credit Union Service Organization) located in Lakewood, Colorado, near Denver. Our company has been around since 1992, originally founded to assist credit unions with shared branching and service centers. Although we have evolved over the past two decades into something much more complex and diverse, one thing remains the same: our core reason for existence. We are here to help the people “who help the people,” as the old credit union saying goes – to help credit unions help their members.
