Members First Credit Union
Members First Credit Union was formed in mid October, 1958, when 35 people met at Box Elder High School and voted to form Thiokol (Utah Division) Employees Credit Union. Membership was open to employees of Thiokol Corporation and families of Credit Union members. A month later, the Credit Union Board borrowed $5,000.00 from Box Elder County Bank to start operations of the Credit Union from the basement of the first Board Chairman’s home.
In 1975 the credit union opened membership to the broader community, and in 1995 the credit union’s name name was changed to Members First Credit Union.
Now the credit union has more than 42 full and part time staff, over 13,200 members and assets in excess of $145 million.
