Position Detail

Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union, located in Fairbanks, Alaska, with over $200 million in assets, is currently in search of a finance and accounting professional to serve as their Chief Financial Officer. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, this individual will oversee general accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, asset liability management, and investments. You will also serve as the main point of contact for financial exams and will be charged with providing analytical data on the fiscal operations of the credit union to assist in strategically guiding the organization. The successful candidate will possess keen problem-solving skills, be well versed in analytics, and have extensive experience with modern day financial software systems and packages. Five plus years of experience in managing fiscal operations for a financial institution and bachelor’s degree is required.

Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union was founded in 1960. In the beginning, it was a small organization located in the Constitution Hall’s Viking Room at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Today, Spirit of Alaska FCU is the largest locally owned and operated credit union in Fairbanks and serves over 9,200 members through its three convenient branch locations. Membership at the credit union is open to any person who lives, works, or worships within the Fairbanks North Star Borough; employees and students of public, private, and parochial schools, high schools, and institutions of higher learning north of the Alaska Range; and members of the Golden Valley Electric Association.
