Ascent Credit Union is looking for a Collector II to help members get back on track. Through phone calls, in person interviews, and sometimes legal action, the Collector II collaborates with members to find the best forward solution. When necessary, this person serves as the liaison for repossession companies and appears at bankruptcy and small claims hearings.

Schedule: 9:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. This is an on-site position.

Compensation: Base wage of $20.85 – $25.00 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications.

How You Will Contribute

  • Make phone calls to members to determine reasons for delinquency, analyze the financial situation of delinquent borrowers, and take appropriate action to resolve the account, including loan modifications or loan workouts.
  • Counsel members concerning their financial obligations, advise of options, and ask for payment agreements.
  • Ensure member files are kept updated and complete, and all required documents are filed.
    Research and analyze data on past due loan accounts, non-sufficient return items and negative share balances, and claims of fraudulent account activity.
  • Use judgment and discretion within the framework of regulation, policies, and member service.
    Prepare the required documentation for assignment to collection agencies or attorney. Attend court hearings for various legal files. Recommends and assists in preparing paperwork for delinquent accounts or charged off accounts.

  • A minimum of 2 years of collection experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience within a financial institution in one or more of the following areas: Branch, Collections, Fraud, Loan Origination, or Call Center.
