Small credit unions have long been the lifeblood of the credit union movement. They serve members in unique ways, with the ability to deeply understand niche markets and develop products and services that meet their needs. They connect meaningfully to their communities in ways that help elevate their economic capacity. It is only with passionate and talented leaders that small credit unions can thrive in the face of competitive threats, fast-changing technology, and increasing regulatory burden. In scenarios where staff size is small and leaders wear multiple hats, development and succession planning is challenging. Despite its importance, it is hard to find the time to develop and build a next generation of leaders.
This program supports small credit unions in their succession planning, by developing a cohort of leaders across the small credit union ecosystem in California and Nevada. The outcome will be a group of prepared executives, ready to step into CEO and executive level positions during times of transition, equipped with unique knowledge of how to lead small credit unions to success.
Inclusions:
This ten-month program incorporates group learning and individual coaching, combining virtual and in-person settings. Participants will complete a Harrison Assessment and receive individualized reports that identify their behaviors, preferences, and interests relative to behaviors, preferences, and interests of successful leaders.
Sessions will emphasize:
Education will be delivered through eight (8) 90-minute virtual sessions, two (2) 2- to 3-hour in-person sessions, and two (2) 60-minute individual coaching sessions.
Special pricing is available for the first 5 Quantum Group Credit Unions that register.

Board’s do two useful things. 1). Ensure the credit union plans strategically and 2) Hire a competent CEO. Sounds so simple. But it can be quite a task. Partly because too many directors don’t fully grasp what it means to be a Strategic Board. This session will provide the simple steps to becoming a Strategic Board. This will help the Board see how they guide the success of the credit union without getting in the way. How to help foster innovation in your credit union. And how to monitor the success without overwhelming management with requests for reports. When you leave this session, you will be ready to make your Board a Strategic Board.
Author, consultant and speaker Tim Harrington has worked with credit unions all over the world. His progressive ideas and broad knowledge of credit union issues has made Tim a valuable resource for credit unions nationwide. Since 1996, Tim has been President of TEAM Resources, a firm providing consulting, strategic planning, and training to credit unions from coast-to-coast. TEAM Resources’ clients range from a few million to the billions in assets. Tim’s book A Credit Union Guide to Strategic Governance has helped boards and CEOs keep a strategic focus at the board level, develop a system to help boards strengthen their governance skills, and while remaining on the Strategic Level, help push their credit union to greater success.
Tim was formerly a partner with the nation’s 3rd largest auditor of credit unions, known today as CliftonLarsonAllen. He has been working with credit unions since 1989 when he directed the internal audit of a large credit union in Tucson, Arizona. Prior to that, he was with a national accounting firm and has been practicing accounting and consulting since 1980. Tim was also appointed to the board of a troubled credit union. As chair, helped the credit union dig out losing $2 million per year to earning nearly $2 million a year within a short period of time.

Authenticity isn’t a buzzword; it’s a decision point. And if you’ve been trying to “figure out” how to lead, grow, or move forward by being everything to everyone… you’re not alone. But you’re also not helping yourself.
This keynote is a reset. A moment to stop performing and start aligning with who you are, because that’s where real momentum begins.
Debbie Peterson unpacks three mindset patterns that quietly derail progress: confusion, when you’re unclear about who you are or what really matters; chameleon mode, when you shape-shift to fit in and lose yourself in the process; and chaos, when you’re chasing everything and prioritizing nothing.
In this interactive program, participants will discover how to:
This keynote isn’t about fixing what’s wrong. It’s about returning to what’s real.
Because the fastest way forward… is back to yourself.

You can’t fix a bad culture or intentionally create a great culture if you don’t know what the components are that make it up. This talk dives into what business culture actually is. People toss the word around, but don’t really know what makes up the culture. Is it Ping Pong, Bean Bags, or Work from Home?
This session describes what Culture is, why it’s important, and most importantly, identifies the 4 components and 16 subcomponents that make up culture. If companies want to have a great culture, they need to be addressing all 16 subcomponents consistently through the organization or people will sniff out the inconsistencies and struggle to engage. Engagement only happens when people align with these components.
Who is the Ignite Series for? The Ignite Series is designed to enhance your leadership skills and help you become your best leader. It will be valuable to anyone in your organization who leads a team, from the frontline to the CEOs.

Are credit unions obsolete? All anyone wants is fintechs and apps? The future belongs to th big banks? Wrong! Wrong! And are you serious?, says veteran credit union journalist Frank J. Diekmann. In this fast-moving, challenging and entertaining hour-long presentation for all credit union employees, Mr. Diekmann explains where credit unions came from, where they are and why they are more relevant than ever to the future for consumers—IF they understand how to connect with members and communities. And that begins with the foundation necessary for any successful enterprise—their own employees, the most important brand ambassadors of all.
In this presentation, Diekmann draws on real-life credit union examples ranging from innovative ideas, unique communications, historical lessons, videos, and more to recharge CU employees about this rare enterprise they are a part of.

The world’s upside down. People are anxious, uncertain, and looking to you for direction. You’re used to going from problem to solution in 2.2 seconds—but right now, everything just feels heavy.
This talk is for the leaders who can admit the load is getting hard to carry… and still have to keep going.
Because real resilience doesn’t look flawless—it looks shaky, human, and still in motion.
We’ll explore six ways to reinforce your resilience so you can stay steady without pretending you’re fine. This isn’t about staying tough. It’s about leading through the mess with grace, grit, and honesty, and showing your people how to do it too.
